[Edanian Journey] Aal

Chapter 1: Toward Aresion

We had gathered every material needed for Ynix, but Illezra said there was still one thing missing: the wisdom to wield the flame.

"It's no mere knowledge, but worthiness."

Wisdom was a power that dwelled within one's very being, so whoever meant to wield it had to attain it for themselves. And now, only Aal could provide the answer I needed.

Aal, the sole god of Valencia and Father of the Desert. For the sake of the godslaying flame, I would have to seek him out. The fact that he was working with Hadum had not changed. After all, it was Aal who had tried to seal the doors of Alyaelli.

Illezra warned that Aal never turned away those who challenged him, but always demanded a price worthy of the answer. She also said there was little point in trying to understand the mind of a god before facing one firsthand.

When I reached Aresion, I found Hashashin fallen along the way. Some were already dead, while others were wounded beyond saving. They were the same ones who had spoken at the Sanctuary of seeking out Aal themselves.

One survivor asked me to help the brothers still ahead. With great effort, he managed to say that there had been no salvation. Then he pointed in one direction and breathed his last.
