Chapter 1: The Return of the King
When I returned to Hakinza Sanctuary with the Black Spirit, a woman immediately bowed low before me.
"Great King of Edana, I bow before you."
She introduced herself as Mariam from Arehaza and told me that Bahram was waiting. Then she led me to his office.
"Ever since you conquered Edania, the mood at the Sanctuary has changed quite a bit. Many now sing praises of your great deeds."
The Hashashin certainly seemed far more cheerful than before. Perhaps watching the Demonlords of Edania fall one by one had made them feel that their seemingly endless struggle was finally nearing its end.
Still, being called the King of Edana felt strange. All I had ever done was fight alongside the Black Spirit to survive in this world and stop the threats before us.
The Black Spirit, on the other hand, said that after everything we had accomplished, we had earned the right to boast a little. It grumbled that everyone had gathered in Bahram's office without us.
As I followed Mariam and drew closer to the office, the excitement in the Sanctuary gradually gave way to a tension I could not quite place.
What were Bahram and the Secret Guards discussing?
