[Edanian Journey] Angavu Outpost

Chapter 3: The Buried Doors

While I fought the monsters that had overrun the Sanctuary, Orwen was preparing the Ancient Light of Origin.

When a monster I had thought dead sprang up and ambushed me, some unseen force intercepted its attack. I had the feeling that someone was watching me from afar, though I could not tell what it meant.

Just as the Ancient Light of Origin was about to be completed, its energy turned violet and exploded. The blast wiped out every monster that had invaded the Sanctuary, while Orwen and Mariam collapsed unconscious.

Once things had settled down, I headed to where Isobelle, Edan, Orwen, and the Hashashin had gathered.

There, the doors of Alyaelli, said to have been buried beneath the Sanctuary, had revealed themselves.

"I believed the path to that place had been sealed forever. And now the darkness seeks to force it open once more!"

Wariyana's voice was filled with shock and fear. The Hashashin had made countless sacrifices over the years to bury these doors. They had given everything to ensure they would never open again, and that the darkness beyond would never reach this land.

Professor Alustin said that when something manifested through Mariam, Bahram had bowed before it as though standing before a god. But Bahram had no answer.

By divine command, the doors were supposed to remain sealed forever. Yet the very doors that should have stayed hidden now stood before us.

Perhaps what had crumbled before them was not the Sanctuary wall, but the faith the Hashashin had clung to for so long.

I asked Wariyana what these doors truly meant to the Hashashin.
