[Edanian Journey] Aphrodon

Chapter 2: The Starving Land

The path to Agris's temple did not open easily. The firmly shut gates and the beings guarding them made it clear that she had no intention of seeing anyone.

Illezra read the lingering energy around the seal. Though she seemed to pity Agris, she said we had little time left and would have to force a meeting if necessary.

A rotting stench hung over the road to the temple. Everything had stagnated in a land where abundance should have flowed freely. The air was foul and ominous, but Illezra said it might actually give us a way to reach Agris.

At the end of the road, we found an old Altar of Agris. Illezra explained that we needed to burn offerings there and kindle Agris Fever. At first, I had no idea what she meant.

"What I'm saying is, we tempt her with food. That child, Agris, has a surprisingly hearty appetite despite how she looks."

But Illezra said it was not simply hunger. It was a burning desire that endlessly craved more, which her followers had long called Agris Fever.

Together, we set out to find the abandoned altars and light a flame Agris would not be able to ignore.
