Chapter 4: The Goddess Returns

Once the heat from the altars had gathered, the seal surrounding Agris's temple finally broke. Inside, a massive pig lay resting in silence. When Illezra called her name, the sleeping being slowly opened her eyes.

"It's been a while. Agris."

The moment Agris realized who had awakened her, she began venting her resentment toward Illezra.

"...Sylvia. Why have you returned to this land? How dare you show your face here again!"

Illezra, whom Agris called Sylvia, tried to explain that everyone had simply been swept away by the same tidal wave that engulfed the land. But Agris felt it was far too unfair to dismiss everything she had endured over the years as merely having been "swept away."

Agris had believed that Sylvia would one day return and put everything back in its rightful place. Even after witnessing three downfalls, she continued to wait for that promise to be fulfilled, unable to abandon the crops she had nurtured.

Illezra apologized for returning far too late. She said she had finally come back to put everything back in its place, and that Ynix was absolutely necessary to do so.

"And I need your help to ignite it."

Agris was deeply shaken by those words. What Illezra was asking for sounded like more than a simple blessing. It felt as though she was asking Agris to surrender something she had protected until the very end.
