Chapter 4: Sins of Bronze, Records of Silver
Venslar said we would have to pass through the Bronze Age and Silver Age, face every sin, and learn the truth. If we returned to the first Golden Age and prayed at the Tower of Will, we might be able to meet Elion.
And so, Sophia and I entered the Bronze Age. There, we found sinners who had waged war in the name of god. Sophia reflected on the many sins that had accumulated throughout history. From the Iron Age and Heroic Age, back through the Bronze Age, Silver Age, and Golden Age, we were moving ever deeper into the sins of the past.
In the Silver Age, countless devotees sat in rows, repeating the same prayers as those we had first encountered. To learn what we needed to do, Sophia and I began examining the records around us one by one. They told of the earliest days of the Church of Elion.
The Crimson Monarch, risen again after great suffering, was said to have conquered the fragments of chaos and transcended the limits of a demigod. After bringing retribution upon the traitors, the monarch ascended to the heavens, leaving the witnesses with a charge to spread the faith.
Those followers then recreated the Tower of Will as it had stood before the ascension and buried Black Stones beneath it as an offering to Elion.
I returned to Sophia and shared what I had learned. These were stories from the Church's earliest days that even the scriptures had never clearly preserved. And with sacred power still lingering throughout this place, there was little doubt that the records were true.
