[Edanian Journey] Elion

Chapter 7: Gatekeeper of the End

Together, we recited the completed <b>True Prayer</b>.

"Here I stand, having witnessed all sins, grant me audience that I may confess before You."

As light shimmered around the tower, devotees began closing in. Those we struck down simply rose again, leaving no end to the fight. Margarethe said she would hold them off and sent me back to the tower.

When I offered the prayer once more, light enveloped my entire body.

<b>"I have heard... your voice."</b>

With Elion's answer, I was carried into the temple. The one barring my path was <b>Jousting</b>.

Lancia in hand, Jousting demanded to know whether I meant to turn a mortal blade against Elion once more. Whether I truly not understood her, after she had grown so disillusioned with this world. The history of sin could not be denied. In Jousting's eyes, this age and this world deserved judgment.

The Magaia we had traveled through was <b>Elion's prophecy of the end</b>. Once a city that connected the goddess and mortals, it had become a revelation of the coming judgment.

The sinners gathered here and the histories brought back to life were both a record and testament to the sins she had witnessed. Through this city, Elion was asking a single question: After seeing it all, could I still defend humanity?

I had no intention of turning back before that question. Nor had my resolve to face Elion changed. Now I would finally have the chance to give my answer.

Leaving the defeated Jousting behind, I followed the path opened before me.

Having witnessed the revelation as a pilgrim, I went on to face the goddess's question.
